When I started my Zentangle journey way back in 2010. Things were still very new in the Zentangle world and everything was way simpler. We only had white square tile and black microns to work.
Over the years there has been a whole wide variety of additions like round tiles, black tiles, tan tiles, grey tiles, adding colors… well there is no limit to creativity plus it is always fun to play with all of that variety.
Personally, I had the opportunity to learn and explore them one at a time actually build over one another.
My in-person workshops at the studio (pre covid) were focused on a similar system for an easy and better understanding of the mediums.
So after the beginner's session which is the Fundamentals of Zentangle, the students would be introduced to Zentangle Inspired Art working through mediums one after another building on each other.
However, with so many beautiful advance creations all around social media, it often gets overwhelming for a new tangler because there is no structured introduction to the new mediums.

Must have done the Fundamentals Workshop, as TRYST is an intermediate program built on the Fundamentals.
Absolutely! Not only will you learn the foundations for creating Zentangle-Inspired Art, you will also learn how to APPLY them. In each class, I give you ideas and alternative ways of creating the project. It's not just learning. It's learning AND creating.
The experience at TRYST will build your confidence working with ZIAs, as you will be equipped with the right tools and techniques to create. You will have total confidence in your skills and get comfortable with your supplies to successfully create inspiring art. The beauty of the TRYST framework is that once you work through the lessons and learn the techniques, you will develop the ability to not only create more but also to surprise yourself and simply be proud of your work.
Not at all! I have designed TRYST to fit busy lifestyles. The entire module is about 2-3 hours long with short lessons so you can work in parts. You will get plenty of time to watch the lessons and do the projects at your own pace. It's all about making unhurried, consistent progress. There's absolutely no rush.
All the lessons are recorded and available with you for 2 years. Learn at your own pace and in your own comfort.
This is a beginners workshop and The list is not very long but yes, we will be working on black tiles, grey tiles, tan tiles and use color pens, color pencils, and watercolors.
All the learning content, is available within the course hub. However, many students find our private Facebook group a safe space for inspiration and encouragement. You will need to be in the group to share your projects, interact with other artists, and be a part of the community.
It depends, we will be working on black, shading black, coloring black, and similarly for the Tan…most of which is covered in the CZT seminar. However, in TRYST, I teach all that step by step so everything builds on one another, for easy understanding, and it's all in one place for you to access and refer back later. So, if you have that strong foundation in creating ZIA then you don’t need TRYST, but if you need more understanding and projects then Hop on and join us.
TRYST is a course with definite 10 modules, focusing on the foundations for creating Zentangle Inspired Art. TRYST is an intermediate course. While SERENE is a year-long program with advanced projects. TRYST helps build the base for SERENE.
