I am a full-time artist and a Certified Zentangle Teacher, practicing and teaching Zentangle for over a decade now.

When I started my Zentangle journey way back in 2010. Things were still very new in the Zentangle world and everything was way simpler. We only had white square tile and black microns to work.
Over the years there has been a whole wide variety of additions like round tiles, black tiles, tan tiles, grey tiles, adding colors… well there is no limit to creativity plus it is always fun to play with all of that variety.
Personally, I had the opportunity to learn and explore them one at a time actually build over one another.
My in-person workshops at the studio (pre covid) were focused on a similar system for an easy and better understanding of the mediums.
So after the beginner's session which is the Fundamentals of Zentangle, the students would be introduced to Zentangle Inspired Art working through mediums one after another building on each other.
However, with so many beautiful advance creations all around social media, it often gets overwhelming for a new tangler because there is no structured introduction to the new mediums.
