Intermediate Workshop
A little creativity. A little reflection. A little magic.
This October, let's make creativity a daily ritual.Welcome to Enchanted Crests — 31 Days of Zen, a 31-day Zentangle-inspired art journey where we will create a beautiful collection of ornate abstract crests on round tiles, filled with pattern, colour and a touch of gold.
“Some shapes feel like they have been waiting for you.”
During my two unforgettable journeys through Europe, I found myself drawn to the beautiful crests and emblems I encountered along the way—adorning ancient wrought-iron gates, stone archways, historic buildings and cathedral facades. There was something captivating about them. Each crest seemed to carry a story—of identity, belonging, strength, protection and tradition. Intricate lines, graceful symmetry and tiny details came together to create something that felt both decorative and deeply meaningful.
And then I began to wonder…
What would happen if the timeless beauty of a crest met the meditative rhythm of Zentangle? What if structured heraldic forms could soften into organic tangles? What if symmetry could meet spontaneity, and intricate details could unfold one mindful stroke at a time?
That curiosity became Enchanted Crests. A 31-day creative journey where each day, a special word becomes our inspiration. We’ll explore that word through pattern, composition, colour and a touch of gold, creating a small crest that is uniquely our own.
As the days unfold, the crests will take us from structure to flow, from symmetry to whimsy, from simple lines to intricate layers. And perhaps, along the way, the words we explore will become more than creative prompts. They may become little reminders of how we want to create, live and grow. One Word. One Crest. One Mindful moment at a time.
